JAMMU, Apr 5: CPM MLA MY Tarigami today suggested to Speaker Mubarak Gul to put lock on the Legislative Assembly door to stop exit of the MLAs to maintain quorum in the House.
His remarks came during Zero Hour when Speaker Mubarak Gul started counting members present in the Assembly after being pointed out by a MLA that there was no quorum in the House.
“There is quorum. There are 25 members present,” Mr Gul said after the counting.
Referring to shortage of members, the Speaker remarked that he would have to close the Assembly canteen.
Yesterday, the Speaker had to adjourn the House due to lack of quorum.
