Purse snatching gang busted, 3 held

JAMMU, Sept 5: Gandhi Nagar police today busted a purse snatching gang with the arrest of three persons and recovery of stolen items.
As per police sources, purse containing cash and mobile phones was snatched from a lady by three persons from Nai Basti area of Gandhi Nagar on August 22.
The woman reported the matter to Gandhi Nagar Police Station and a case under FIR number 181/14 under Section 382 RPC was registered.
On specific inputs, police team from Gandhi Nagar Police Station conducted a raid and arrested three accused involved in the snatching of purse.
The accused have been identified as Ashish Saini alias Sethi, son of Shamboo Saini, Jodh Singh alias Gillu, son of Karan Singh and Surinder Kumar alias Shinda, son of Mangal Dass, all resident of Akalpur. Stolen purse carrying mobile phones and cash was also recovered on their disclosure.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Gandhi Nagar Police Station Inspector Manzoor Ahmed Kohli along with PSI Ashiq Hussain made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Gandhi Nagar Harjeet Singh, SP South Rahul Malik and SSP Jammu Uttam Chand.
