In a pre-emptive fire assault Indian forward troops in Nowshera sector of Rajouri district decimated about a dozen Pakistani military posts and bunkers to disallow jihadis any chance of infiltrating into our side for unleashing subversion. Nowshera sector has been witnessing bitter Pakistani firing and shelling that caused the death of three civilians on our side including a woman. The new infiltration strategy adopted by Pakistani army is to provide shelter and launching pad facilities to the jihadis who are trained and sponsored by well-known Pakistani terrorist groups like Lashkar and Jaish. Each Pakistani post admits 3-5 jihadis, gives them fire cover to distract the attention of Indian border security force and then make it convenient for the jihadis to sneak into our side.
The army is said to have very reliable input about the presence of jihadis in the Pakistani military posts and bunkers. The decision of striking at these posts and bunkers, according to a statement of the Indian army, is part of Government of India’s counter-terrorism tactics. India army made no bones in declaring that the punitive strike had to be ordered because these posts were used as the launching pad of jihad infiltration into our side. Incidentally, India has been warning Pakistan at each occasion of its Rangers violating the ceasefire agreement but without any meaningful result. The strike has been forceful, effective and pin pointed. The 22-second video, released by the Indian army, shows structures blown up in cloud of smoke and razed to dust. Pakistan army has been boasting that jihadis are its frontline and they have full support to conduct operations on the LoC. Pakistan has been telling all international forums that she will extend moral political and diplomatic support to Kashmiri seditionists and traitors. Actually, she is providing them military support through her regular army. That is the reason why Indian army said in its statement that punitive strike had become unavoidable because the emboldened jihadis were preparing to sneak into our side of the border. Pakistani media has blocked all news about the strike and army has denied any attack by Indian troops or loss of life as a result of the strike. Pakistan army knows that accepting its debacle on the battlefield will reduce the credibility of the army to dust and the civil society in Pakistan will lose its trust in the army. Massive strike on Pakistani posts has sent a shiver down the spine of the insurgents in Kashmir as the security forces are tightening the noose on them.
It is now evident that Indian army seems to have chartered the comprehensive policy of launching intermittent but regular and pointed assaults on Pakistan’s posts and bunkers all along the hundreds of miles of LoC. Now that the snow will begin to melt and passes will open, this will provide good opportunity to our surveillance mechanism to identify Pakistani posts, their location and movement of men in and around so that they can strike at precise targets with deadly precision. We have had enough of infiltration and mayhem let loose by jihadis and their military abettors and now our army must wrest the initiative from their hands. The time has come when, as a result of recurrent and unrelenting strikes by Indian forward troops, there is bound to ensue utter chaos and disarray in Pakistan establishment. Its hawks will be drawn to desperation, while we should be prepared for any exigency that may crop up.
