PSA demands recognition of all schools under SRO 259

JAMMU, May 11: Private Schools Association held a meeting under the chairmanship of its President Kamal Gupta here today and demanded recognition of all schools under provision of SRO 259 of 1995.
While speaking, Kamal Gupta said that recognition/permission cases of Private schools upto class 8th are pending due to SRO 123 of 2010 as some clauses of this SRO for the schools in particular are unjust and even not needed by as per norm fixed for AICTE.
He said all private schools functioning upto High and Higher Secondary levels in the State were granted recognition from time to time and the students upto 8th standard are ignored due to the reason best know to the authorities.
All members unanimously demanded that all schools should be given recognition on the basis of previous SRO 259 of 1995 as most of the schools have been established before the initiation of new SRO 123.
Ajay Gupta State Coordinator PSA appealed to the Director School Education to issue clear cut instructions to all CEOs whom he has ordered for the conduct of fresh inspection of all pending cases upto 8th standard of not harassing the private schools which are being run by the unemployed educated youth who are working very hard to earn their livelihood by charging meager amount and totally dependent on the private schools.
Among others present were Raja Shazad Ahmed Magral from  Poonch, Mohammad Roqyaz Khan from Mendhar, Ajay Singh Kotwal, Incharge Reasi, Laddi Kumar from Katra, RP Sharma from Udhampur, Bilal Ahmed from Mandi, etc.
