PRP holds demonstration

SRINAGAR, Dec 1: Highlighting various problems of the people of the State, created due to border tension between India and Pakistan Peoples Republican Party (PRP) held a demonstration at Press Enclave here today and demanded that two neighboring countries should end the hostilities and work for restoration of everlasting peace in the region.
The demonstration was led by PRP chief Mir Ghulam Rasool who said that the border skirmishes and terrorism will ruin both the countries and hence the good sense should prevail upon the leadership of the two nations to end the present hostilities and work for promotion of peace by settling all the bilateral issues including the Kashmir through dialogue.
The protestors raising slogans criticized the anti people policies of the government and said that the credibility of democratic institutions be restored, the dismissed employees be reinstated, bank loans be remitted and those arrested be released as this will help in restoration of peace in the Valley.
The protestors also condemned the acts of terrorism and said that violence and bloodshed was not a solution to any sort of problem.
Mir said that all efforts be made to keep the flag of democracy high. He also accused the Government of its total failure in containing price rise, corruption and black marketing and demanded that the hike in APL ration be revoked immediately.
The demonstration was addressed by Ghulam Mohamed War, Mukhtar Ahmed, Sheikh Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Shilwati, Bikram Singh and Abdul Razaq Dar.
