PRP asks Government to settle municipal employees demands

SRINAGAR, June 10: Peoples Republican Party (PRP) has urged the Government to pay attention towards the genuine demands of employees of Municipal Committees in the State who are on strike demanding that their rights be protected after deputing these employees in the development authorities.
PRP, which met here, today under the chairmanship of its president Advocate G M Tramboo said that Government should ensure the job security of these employees before deputing them into development authorities. The meting was also addressed by Mir Ghulam Rasool Butwani, chief spokesperson of the Party and Mr Hamdard its senior leader.
They said that the employees of the municipal committees should have full guarantee of their service with job protection and all other perks and benefits which they enjoyed as employees of the committees after their merger in development authorities.
They said some of the municipal committees are very old like that of Gulmarg and Pahalgam and while placing the services of the employees of these committees at the disposal of development authorities they should be given the same service benefits which they were entitled to as employees of municipal committees.
Addressing the meeting Mir Ghulam Rasool said that the people have also been put to hardships due to the strike of these employees who seek a guarantee from Government that their services will be protected fully even after their deputation or merger in development authorities.
