JAMMU, June 10: An activists meeting of Panun Kashmir followed by prominent citizens meet was held here in Kashyap Reshi Bhawan, in NCR-Delhi today. The meeting, arranged by Chand Ji Pandita, PK Coordinator, NCR Delhi and it discussed various issues confronting the displaced community from Kashmir. Among other things that came under focus was to formulate a strategy to highlight the issues of human right violations, ethnic cleansing & genocide of ‘Internally Displaced’ Kashmiri Hindus rendered refugee within their own country.
In this regard, an activists’ meet, coordinated by prominent PK activist Ajay Khosa, was also held in Jammu. The meeting decided, among other things to reach out to different sections of the society including the exiled community members living in Jagti township and at other places in Jammu to galvanize public support for “Caravan of light against lies”-the theme of the ‘World Refugee Day’ public protest. The meetings were held In run up to upcoming ‘World Refugee Day’ falling on June 20 and PK is holding protest march worldwide on this day.
The participants in the day long deliberations in NCR region resolved to sensitize the exiled community to remain vigilant about the forces within and outside, which are desperate to derail the historic movement of Panun Kashmir. Participants also reiterated their resolve to continue their peaceful struggle for reclamation of minority Kashmiri Hindu community’s lost homeland in their place of origin as envisioned in Margdarshan resolution of Dec-1991. “Kashmiri Hindus cannot forget the genocidal war to which they have repeatedly been subjected to. The elements that perpetrated genocide in Kashmir remain unpunished. Over the years, these forces have got entrenched in the different layers of society and polity; and their ideological and political stranglehold has deepened with grave consequences for sovereignty and integrity of India” was the unanimous view of participants in the deliberation.
Among those who addressed the gathering included Dr. Agnishekhar, convenor Panun Kashmir and Dr. Shakti Bhan, Chairperson,Daughters of Vitasta (Women’s Wing of Panun Kashmir).
