BHADERWAH/BANI, June 10: Forest sleuths in two separate operations seized 12 kg costly forest produce, Nagshatri in Paddari area of Bhaderwah Forest Division and Loang area of Bani in Billawar Forest Division today.
Official sources said that acting on a specific information, a Forest team led by DFO Bhaderwah T B Singh, assisted by Range Officer Neeru, M S Jamwal along with two Foresters and some Forest Guards organised an operation in remote Paddri area, near Himachal-J&K border today and recovered 7 kg of Nagshatri. The smuggler threw away the bag containing consignment and managed to escape towards the thick forest giving slip to the team members. A case has been registered in this connection.
Meanwhile, another Forest team led by Range Officer, Bani Tara Chand, assisted by Forester Loang, Abdul-Rehman under the supervision of DFO Billawar, Satpal organised another operation and recovered 5 kg `Nagshatri’ from the possession of three persons. They were coming down from Seoj Dhar area of Sarthal. The consignment was seized and all the three persons were booked under relevant Sections.
