PRP appeals people to fight forces inimical to peace

SRINAGAR, Sept 9: People’s Republican Party (PRP) held a one day convention here, today in which the problems’ being faced by the people in the State especially those hit by floods and cross border firing were discussed.
The meeting said that the continuous border skirmishes between India and Pakistan is a cause of concern as innocent people have lost their lives and it is imperative for the leadership of two countries to settle the Kashmir issue through dialogue process as the deadlock will lead to further tension.
The meeting said the leadership of the two countries should come forward and initiate dialogue process without making it a prestigious issue as the people of two countries have suffered a lot since 1947 and achieved nothing from past wars.
The meeting through a resolution impressed upon the leadership of two countries that the money spend for security purposes can thus be utilized for development and to fight against the hunger, poverty, illiteracy and diseases. The speakers in the convention said that the imperialist forces want that India and Pakistan should remain engaged in conflict. They said people of Kashmir should act as bridge to better relations between the two countries.
During the convention concern was expressed over price rise and failure of the Government to provide relief to flood and border firing victims.
An appeal was made to the people of the State to fight the forces inimical to restoration of peace in the State and Sub-continent.
The convention was chaired by chief spokesperson of the Party Mir Ghulam Rasool and among others was it was addressed by G A Hamdard, G M Tramboo its chairman, G M Rather, S Bikram Sing, G M War, G M Khan, Maqbool Sheikh, Ab Razak Dar, Mir Mudasir a and B A Malik.
