JAMMU, Mar 8: Darbar Move Employees Federation (DMEF), J&K today appealed Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu to pass necessary directions for sufficient availability of masks/sanitizers/other essential commodities for all hospitals of J&K, as demanded by Doctors Association Jammu (DAJ).
“It has been seen that doctors of Jammu division are feeling unsafe being without working safety precuations as per WHO guidelines, as the hospitals are facing shortage of masks/sanitizers for last one week,” said president DMEF J&K Ovais Wani, while expressing deep concern over the ground situation.
He said on one side Government has raised alarm over coronavirus threat and is ready to fight this epidemic but on the other no precautionary measures are seen on ground level. Condemning the incident of transfer of president DAJ Dr Balvinder Singh (Consultant Orthopedic) on demanding masks/other essential commodities for doctors of Jammu, the DMEF president said it is not acceptable.
Wani appealed the LG GC Murmu to roll back the transfer order of the doctor and issued necessary directions for sufficient supply of masks and sanitizers for doctors, stating that a single infected doctor may infect more than 100 persons per day, which will lead to disaster in UT. “So, doctors safety should be our main concern,” he added.
