Protest held against Pak near border

SAMBA, May 6:  A protest was held near the Indo-Pak border, at village Pangthour, against the brutal assault on Indian prisoner Sarabjit lodged in Lahore’s Kot Lakhpat jail, by a Pakistani prisoner, which led to his death.
The villagers including men, women and children raised slogans against the Pakistan Government for this brutality and termed the incident a planned one by the Pakistan Government.
The protestors which were joined by BJP leaders Kashmira Singh, Subhash Bhagat, Satya Kour and Sunil Padha, also demanded to declare  Chamel Singh a martyr. They demanded  the Indian Government to provide same financial aid to Chamel Singh’s family, which was provided to the family of Sarabjeet.
They also demanded stringent punishment for the Congress leader Sajjan Kumar, who  they alleged, was responsible for inciting crowd and killing of thousands of  innocent Sikhs in 1984.
