UDHAMPUR, Sept 21: The villagers of Panchayat Chenani in Majalta held protest against Forest Department as it was not allowing construction work of residential houses and roads.
Alleging harassment to locals by the Forest Department, the locals claimed that construct work of many residential houses and roads has been suspended for the last 4 years. Many times deputations met the Deputy Commissioner Udhampur and Tehsildar Majalta but despite new land marking in this area, no action till date has been taken.
They appealed to the Governor Satya Pal Malik to intervene into the matter and provide some relief to the people of this area.
