POONCH, Jan 9: Many elected representatives and people of Block Mandi, Loran in district Poonch staged protest against the newly issued Government order for online attendance in MGNREGA works.
Protestors while raising the slogans in Tehsil Complex Mandi said that such order is an attempt to windup MGNREGA Scheme from Panchayats as people are unable to get their payments even after doing work on ground.
They said that our Panchayats are in hilly bound areas and concerned employees are not able to reach on every work to take online photos that too twice in a day which results in absent of labours in many works of Panchayat.
“We urge Government to roll back this order or depute more employees on Panchayat level so that they can reach on every work to do online attendance of labourers”, they added.
Pertinent to mention that Rural Development Department has issued an order to ensure online attendance at work site in MGNREGA scheme, which has been started from Ist January of this year.
