GANDERBAL, Aug 19: The relatives and the neighbours of a youth today protested at Kangan Chowk in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district who was taken hostage by some persons.
Police said that car mechanic, Mushtaq Ahmad Mir, 22, son of Ghulam Qadir Mir of Baranbugh area was, however, let free by his captors in the afternoon.
Mir had left for his shop at Kangan on Monday morning but didn’t return in the evening. He called his brother from his cell phone that he was in trouble.
People this morning protested against his kidnapping but he was let off by his captors in the afternoon. Police said that he had some business dealing with those who had held him hostage.
