SRINAGAR, Dec 27: Chairman of People’s Democratic Front (PDF) Hakeem Yaseen today said that building of basic infrastructure was imperative for holistic development of Jammu and Kashmir but the protection of the domicile rights is supreme to the people and that cannot be compromised.
Reacting to the J&K Real Estate Summit that was organized by the Union Ministry for Housing and Urban Affairs and the J&K administration at Jammu today, Hakeem Yaseen said that any move to sell land to outsiders would evoke strong resentment among the people of the Union Territory. He said that development should not be at the cost of people’s right on their land and employment.
He said protection to the rights of people on land and employment shall have to be kept in mind before seeking proposals for investment in J&K. “People of J&K want protection of their constitutional guarantees to uphold their honour, identify and dignity at any cost,” Yaseen maintained adding that infrastructural development should in no way tamper with peoples’ identity and demography.
