Property dealer among two found hanging

JAMMU, June 11: In separate cases, dead bodies of two men including a property dealer were recovered today from two separate places in city outskirts.
According to a police official, the dead body of a man namely Sant Ram (40) son of Rampal, resident of Chattisgarh, was found hanging in a jhuggi at a plot in lane No 17, Rajpura, where he was presently residing.
“The man was suffering from some critical disease for a long time and was unable to work, so prima facie it appears that he has committed suicide under depression. But, as no suicide note was recovered from the spot, inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC have been initiated at police station Bakshi Nagar”, he added. He further informed that body of the deceased was shifted to mortuary room of Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu for postmortem.
Meanwhile, the dead body of a property dealer namely Sham Verma (55) son of late Amar Nath, resident of Lambi Gali (Udhampur), was founded hanging this evening with the ceiling fan in a rented room in 9 B/B Extension Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, where he was living alone for quite a long time.
“The body has been shifted to mortuary room of GMCH Jammu for postmortem and inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC initiated at Police Station Gandhi Nagar”, the police official added.
