Srinagar, June 6: The Police today attached immovable properties worth about Rs 3.5 crore belonging to two alleged drug traffickers under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
In the first case, Police Station Nigeen attached a residential house and land worth about Rs 1.30 crore at Habbak Crossing, Hazratbal, belonging to Rahil Manzoor Malla.
The action was taken under Section 68(F)(1) of the NDPS Act in connection with FIR No. 30/2021 under Sections 8/21 of the Act.
In a separate action, Police Station Soura attached a residential house worth about Rs 2.20 crore belonging to Adil Rashid Gudoo of Keel Khan Gali, Haider Colony, Upper Soura, who police said was involved in illicit narcotics trafficking.
Police said investigations established that both properties had been acquired through proceeds generated from drug trafficking activities and were therefore attached and frozen under the NDPS Act.
The attachment orders prohibit the owners from selling, transferring, leasing, alienating, altering or creating any third-party interest in the properties pending further legal proceedings.
Meanwhile, Police in Shopian today attached a residential house worth Rs 18.51 lakh allegedly acquired through proceeds of drug trafficking.
The property belongs to Mohd Ashraf Allaie of Melhura Zainapora and was attached in connection with FIR No. 10/2025 registered at Police Station Zainapora.
Police said investigations established that the house had been acquired through money generated from illegal drug trade.
The attachment proceedings were conducted in the presence of an Executive Magistrate, Lambardar and Chowkidar, besides a police team, to ensure compliance with legal procedures and transparency.
