Proper drainage demanded

JAMMU, Nov 20: A meeting of the Executive Body of Ajit Colony Extension Residents of Ward 32, Camp Road was held under the chairmanship of S. Harbans Singh.
Speakers in the meeting discussed suffering of the Colony residents due to non-construction of drains in the area resulting which water logging is formed there during rains.
Coordinator Arun Jandial apprised the members of the current status of their grievance on the issue registered with the PM’s Cell. The same was also registered with LG’s Grievance Cell after which Jammu Administration sent the application to Executive Engineer UEED who in his response stated that DPR of Ajeet Colony has already been submitted for Rs. 169.05 lakh to Commissioner JMC.
The members appealed to the Lieutenant Governor, Mayor JMC and Commissioner JMC to direct the XEN concerned to personally visit the site and submit revised DPR for construction of drains in the locality which was previously left so that the locals there may get rid of nuisance from water logging.
Prominent among those who attended the meeting were Ramesh Bhat, Puran Chand, Rattan Lal Thusoo, C.L Sharma, B.N Jotshi, Vijay Kumar, Gurdeep Singh, Ravi Bhat, D.K Raina, M.K Koul and Rakesh Kumar.
