JAMMU, May 15: Prominent contractor’s nephew among three booked for illegal mining and cheating by Akhnoor Police.
As per police sources, three persons including prominent contractor’s nephew were booked for theft of Government minerals, cheating and conspiracy thereof.
The persons, against whom, the case has been registered are Rahil Choudhary (nephew of prominent contractor Choudhary Nagar Singh), son of Rakesh Choudhary, a resident of Gandhi Nagar District Jammu (Lease Holder Block Number 5/36 Chowki Choura), Ajay Kumar, son of Satpaul of Grattal Tehsil Akhnoor District Jammu and Suresh Kumar, son of Milkhi Ram of Sungal, Tehsil Akhnoor District Jammu.
It came to fore that the said block owner was extracting minor minerals from area without permission and unauthorisedly issuing requisite slips and forms in violation of the mining act.
A case under FIR Number 125/2021 under Sections 379, 420, 120-B IPC r/w 21/23 Mines and Minerals Act has been registered against the aforesaid persons at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
