JAMMU, Feb 23: Senior BJP leader and Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha), Ghulam Ali Khatana has said that for the first time in the history of Jammu and Kashmir a revolutionary and progressive industrial policy has been made under the leadership of Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha.
In a press release issued to the media here, today, Khatana said that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister, Amit Shah are taking keen interests for the progress and uplifting of industries of J&K and have put in place several schemes and subsidies for that purpose.
“As many people are not aware about such schemes there is a need for the Department of Industries to organise awareness camps in this regard,” the BJP leader said.
He also said that local unemployed youth should be given jobs in the industries of J&K and start-ups should also be encouraged so that more industrial units are established in J&K to tackle the problem of unemployment.
Khatana said that for the first time a number of start-ups have come up in J&K by the people who are now self-employed and are also creating job avenues for others also thereby having no more dependence on the Government for employment.
“This has only been possible due to the vision and foresightedness of PM Modi,” he continued.
The MP also stressed on rehabilitation of the people whose lands have been taken by the authorities for developmental projects.
“These people should also be compensated and should also be made part of such projects by giving them jobs in these projects,” Khatana maintained expressing confidence that the J&K UT Administration under the leadership of LG Manoj Sinha will surely do that like it has accomplished many other welfare measures including houses and residential plots to homeless poor people.
