JAMMU, Feb 7: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Councillor, Prof. Youdhvir Singh here today started the construction of kindergarten building at Govt. Girls High School (GGHS) Bhour.
Speaking on the occasion Prof. Singh said that opening of kindergarten will usher sea changes in enrollment at government schools in the area at the very entry stage of education.
“Further strengthening it with facilities required for kindergarten may prove it as game changer in School Education Department,” he maintained adding that Chief Education Officer Planning Section’s decision in favour of multistory building in this regard is a futuristic approach which will cost Rs. 63 lakh expenditure and to begin with it will be single story building with provisions for two more levels as and when required.
Prominent among those present on the occasion were S. Balbir Singh, president Gurudwara Singh Sabha Bhour-1; S. Inder Singh, treasurer; Chamman Lal Sharma, contractor; S. Rasbir Singh, Head Master of the School; Santosh Sharma along with other staff members.
Members of School Management Committee said that construction of already declared unsafe class rooms in the School should start soon.
