Prof Naseer delivers extension lectures in JU

JAMMU, Dec 22: The reputed linguistic of Urdu world, Prof  Naseer Ahmed Khan,  former, Chairman School of Languages, Jawaharlal Nehru University , New Delhi,  delivered three extension lectures to the students, scholars and faculty members of the Urdu Department during his two day visit to Jammu University.
The towering Urdu scholar thoroughly talked about the origin and development of Urdu language from the linguistic view point. He described Persian and Sanskrit as the mother of Urdu language. He discussed the role played by various religions in the development of Urdu language and informed that Urdu is the only language in India which is being spoken in the nook and corner of India.
The extension lecture was presided over by noted Historian of the state Aseer Kishtwari, who too, in his presidential address, said that Research Scholars should not be biased while doing their research.
