UDHAMPUR, May 21: A meeting of Block Congress Committee, Majalta was held under the chairmanship of block president Om Parkash Sharma for highlighting the local issues, particularly bad condition of Battal-Mansar road.
While addressing the party workers, Mr Sharma urged the Government to initiate a high level enquiry into alleged misappropriation of funds by the PWD Department on the so called repair of the road from Battal to Mansar. He said that during the last financial year, lakhs of rupees were shown spent for the repair of same stretch of the road but only in papers.
The concerned officials have become contractors themselves and made only one point mission of grabbing money, he further alleged and reminded that during the last Assembly session this issue was also raised in the House but no action was taken so far.
Urging the Government not to allow the department to repeat the same money grabbing game during the current financial year, the Congress leader demanded an inquiry into the whole fraud.
