SRINAGAR, Sept 24: The prize distribution function of the 32nd Police-Public Mela 2020 for winners of Kashmir Zone was held at Police Headquarters here today. The function was presided over by DGP Dilbag Singh.
The presentation function was attended by Chairperson PWWA Dr Rubinder Kaur, Special DG Crime J&K, AK Choudhary, ADGPs SJM Gillani, Dr SD Singh Jamwal, MK Sinha, Danesh Rana, Sunil Kumar, IGPs Vijay Kumar, Alok Kumar, DIG Sunil Gupta, DPT J&K, Mushtaq Ahmed, PWWA members Archana Chowdhary, Palavi Gillani, Shabnam Mir and Suma Sinha, AIGs of PHQ and other gazetted officers of PHQ.
Speaking on the occasion the DGP said that involvement of people especially youth in different sports events at Police station, district, range or zonal levels have helped in maintaining normalcy in J&K. He said that the current situation in J&K is far better than what it used to be. He said that good atmosphere will benefit the children and youth who have suffered a lot over the past many years. He said that the safety of people of J&K is always our top priority.
Speaking to the media persons the DGP said that in the recent times infiltration attempts have increased from Rajouri, Poonch, Kupwara and Baramulla side and our forces are capable enough to tackle such attempts. He said that cross border infiltration has been a cause of concern but all attempts of pushing terrorists in our side are being foiled. He said every terrorist infiltrated is being neutralized and forces are keeping a watch on such activities.
Earlier, ADGP Headquarters PHQ MK Sinha presented the welcome address.
AIG Welfare/Communication PHQ Manoj Kumar Pandit conducted the proceedings of the function.
Later, DGP, ADGPs, IGPs, PWWA members, AIGs and other Gazzetted officers distributed the prizes.
First prize Maruti Suzuki Ciaz was presented to Balbir Singh, while second prizes Wagon R cars were presented to Abdul Hamid, Gulzar Ahmad Wani and Feroz Ahmad Begh. Third prizes Alto 800 cars were presented to Jigmat Stobgya, Mohd Ibrahim and Mohd Ishaq, Fifth prizes Motorcycle TVS Sport 100cc were presented to Manzoor Ahmad, Reyaz Qadri, Firdous Ahmad, Manzoor Ahmad and Rameez Ahmad. Sixth prizes Mi full HD Smart LED (55”) were presented to Abdul Hamid and Gh. Hussain Mir. Seventh prize Voltas High Wall Spilt AC (Hot and Cold) was presented to Firdous Ahmad. Eighth prize of HP Laptop Quad Core 15.6″ HD was presented to Shahid Ahmad. Ninth prize of LG Convection Oven was presented to Raja Begum and 10th prizes of Samsung Refrigerator 192 litres were presented to Sarshad Hussain and Reyaz Ahmad.
