We would like to request the J&K Govt. and Deptt. of Social Welfare to please enshrine the workplace rights, in Service entitlements and Privileges in the new PWD Act 2018 for the Physically Challenged , so far as the nearness of their and their spouses postings are concerned. They are also requested to envisage flexihours for Physically Challenged Employees keeping in view their Physical Limitations and Constraints. HoDs, DDOs and HO Insts may be given authority to utilise funds judiciously and transparently for their welfare & towards meeting their needs of daily life and provision of all, Special utilities to them, viz : toilets etc. and need based furniture. Special and responsive e- Help desks & e- Grievance cells may be established in all Dept’s including Civil Secretariat as most of the PWDs can’t visit offices etc. Special quota in Food & Supplies Rations & LPG and their home delivery may also introduced. Circulars regarding rights of Disabled Employees may be circulated to all Deptt’s., HoDs and HO Insts.
Disabled friendly environment may also be created at Public Places and Offices, Banks, ATMs. Technical and Vocational short term and job oriented courses for unemployed PWDs may be sponsored by Govt. and NGOs. Career counseling cells for PWDs may be established.
Commissioner Disabilities may conduct field inspections to check things in field and to know about ground realities.
