JAMMU, Jan 17:  A deputation of Private Schools Association,  led by its president Kamal Gupta,  presented a memorandum to Justice (Retd.) Imtiyaz Hussain , Chairman of Fee Fixation Committee of Private Educational Institution .
While speaking,  members highlighted the drawback of order no. 106 FFC of 2017 dated  20/10/17 in which educational institutions have been authorized to make an increase of 8 percent in tuition fee only for three years since  August 2014.  The Association opined that fixing 2014 as base year for the enhancement fee @ 8 percent  is unjust, as all acts and rules should be considered and given effect prospectively and  FFC has come out with a draft to regulate enhancement of fee structure of private educational institutions on 20/10/2017 only.
Members said that till date State Government was a passive on looker and still there is no loan / subsidy facility for the volunteers in this venture. “Now when somehow poor marginal private schools have gained little ground after investing their life, finance and property of their parents, a number of taxes, levies, exorbitant fee etc  have been slapped and different Government agencies are squeezing the imposed taxes vigorously,” the Association explained and added that this type of attitude of the Government has shaken the confidence and  created a panic among those  dependent on this profession only. General secretary Ajay Gupta,  on behalf of the associates,  demanded reconsideration orders 106 FFC of 2017 dt. 20/10/17, FFC/Jmu-17/706-727 dt. 08/11/17 and 241 FFCof 2017 dt. 07/12/2017 for framing clear cut policies and rules for the fixing of the genuine and a new fee structure for the coming session 2018-19 and also shelve the details w.e.f. August 2014 to March 2018.
The members,  who accompanied the deputation,  included Rameshwar Mengi (vice president), Sanjeev Luthra, Lal Chand, Vivek Chouhan, Sanjeev Gupta, Chain Singh, Siddheshwar Sadotra, Vineet Gupta, Thomas Ooman, Manoj Sharma,Subash Kerni, Usha Jamwal, Raj Dev Singh,Naresh Kumari, Sham Singh, Ajay Singh, Joginder Singh, Ashwani Khajuria, Laddi Kumar, Vikram Sharma, Subash Chib, Ashok Kumar, Satish Sharma, Raja Rani, Mohd.
