JAMMU, Jan 17: A car, which was stolen from outside Deputy Commissioner (DC) office around two days back, has remained untraced.
As per sources, an i20 car bearing registration number HR01AE-3347 belonging to Statistical Assistant in the office of DC Jammu has been stolen from outside the office of DC Jammu on January 15 and a case in this regard also stands registered with concerned police station.
Despite the fact that a lady, who was suspected to be thief and was working in the office of DC Jammu, was zeroed in during the initial investigation, no progress has been made in the case. Interestingly no enquiry has been conducted within the DC office to ascertain the credentials of the suspected thief.
Sources further stated that the suspected thief was handling the work of preparation of Aadhaar and Ration cards in the DC office.
