JAMMU, Oct 8: Terming fee fixation committee of Jammu and Kashmir Government as a paper horse being run to woo people with false claims, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) state spokesperson Sheema Farooqi said that private schools are running the education department affairs in J&K and pathetic condition of Government schools is the biggest reason of failure of education sector.
“There was a huge hue and cry across J&K regarding hike in fees of private schools by the concerned managements without any official nod and parents of students admitted in private institutions used to complain of fee rise without justification after which J&K Government framed a feed fixation committee which was tasked to ensure that there is no unnecessary rise in fee,” she said.
She added that this fee fixation committee is just a paper horse which is being run by the Government to befool public and no step of relief for parents of students has been taken by this committee. “Some private education institutions in J&K are charging hefty amount on the name of school fee and fee fixation committee did nothing to check it,” Farooqi said adding that now this committee has given its approval for enhancement of transport fee by 14% which is a big burden on the shoulder of parents.
The AAP leader asked J&K Government to take some concrete steps towards this issue rather than hollow slogans so that parents and guardians of children studying in private education institutions can have a sigh of relief.
She also took a dig at J&K Government for failure on education front and leaving education sector on God’s mercy stating that poor and pathetic condition of Government schools in the UT is biggest reason of this failure and Government is taking no steps for improvement.
