JAMMU, Feb 22: Pritpal Singh Betab, a renowned Urdu Ghazal writer, poet of international fame and retired IAS officer, was honored with life time achievement award by Tehreek -Bakaye -Urdu, a literary organization for his extensive contribution to Urdu literature.
On this occasion, the autobiography of Pritpal Singh Betab,”Mere Hisse ki Duniya “was also released.
Betab has 12 books of poetry and Ghazal to his credit. Few incidents of his life, enriched with soulful experiences were quoted by him from his autobiography, which were highly appreciated by the gathering.
On this occasion, many Urdu and Hindi poets were present. They spoke on the life of Betab. Several Ghazals were also recited.
The writers, who attended the function, included Professor Riaz Ahmed, Ahmed Shenaz , Raj Kumar Chandan, Khursheed Kazmi, Irfan Arif, Hameedullah Naik, Dr Joginder Singh Shaan, Dr Khalid Hussain, Harjeet Singh Uppal , Ameen Banihali , Anu Singh and Anila Singh Charak. The vote of thanks was presented by Hamidullah Naik.
