KARGIL Sept 13: Principal Director General News, All India Radio, Ira Joshi during her 4 day visit to Kargil and Leh districts, met the Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC, Kargil Feroz Ahmad Khan and Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil Baseer ul Haq Choudhary here today.
She was accompanied by the Additional Director General All India Radio/ Doordarshan Dr Shailender Kumar and Assistant Director News AIR Ladakh/ Doordarshan Ramesh Chander.
During her meeting with the CEC Kargil, measures for strengthening of infrastructure and man power of All India Radio and Doordarshan in the district, role of AIR Kargil in dissemination of different varieties of programmes and news in regional languages particularly the Purgi news and other related issues came up for discussion.
Later, she also met with Deputy Commissioner and CEO, LAHDC, Kargil wherein various issues were deliberated upon.
Meanwhile, Principal Director General News also held separate meetings with the Vice Chancellor, University of Ladakh C Phunsog, and officers and employees of All India Radio Kargil.
