JAMMU, July 1: The J&K Prisons Retired Employees Welfare Association (PREWA) in a letter faxed to DGP Prison Department, PL Gupta has sought speedy follow up action on the memorandum presented before him in April by a deputation of the association.
Krishan Singh, president, PREWA said that retired persons most of whom are aged and infirm deserve preferential care and compassion of the department which they have serviced during prime period of their live for decades together.
The president urged the Government to immediately release 10% DA installment from January 2014 in cash in respect of pensioners and employees, payment of balance amount of Sixth CPC arrears, revision of medical allowance to Rs 1000 and amend treasury code to authorize J&K Bank branch manager to conduct physical verification of Pensioners besides treasury officers to save poor pensioner from the order of present system of annual physical verification of pensioners.
