RAMBAN, Sept 23: A pregnant lady was found dead with throat slit at her residence in Darshipora area today morning.

As per police sources, information was received at Police Station Banihal from reliable sources that a pregnant lady namely Zubaida Begum, wife of Mohammad Saleem, a resident of Darshipora Tehsil Banihal was found lying in a pool of blood with a slit throat at her home at Darshipora.
Acting over the information, a police team led by SDPO Banihal along with SHO Banihal reached the spot and took the body into their custody.
Sensing some mischief, police has taken cognizance in this regard and a case FIR Number 171/2021 under Section 302 IPC has been registered at Police Station Banihal. The investigation is underway and all possible angles are being explored to find if any foul play has happened.
However, after conducting the post-mortem, the body of the deceased has been handed over to legal heirs for last rites.
