Prasad lays foundation of 48 residential quarters

JAMMU, Apr 2: Director General of Police (DGP), Ashok Prasad today laid foundation stone of residential quarters at Sidhra being constructed by Jammu & Kashmir Police Housing Corporation (JKPHC). The quarters, on their completion, would accommodate upper subordinates of the Organization.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Prasad said that our prime concern is to provide living facilities to the personnel at their places of posting. In this regard the Organisation, under its modernization scheme has launched a mega construction programme to strengthen its building infrastructure in the State, he added and maintained that several residential quarters, barracks and alternate accommodations have been constructed at various locations, making a considerable improvement in the housing sector.
Giving details, Mr. Prasad said that the upcoming accommodation, comprising 48 residential quarters for upper subordinates, would enhance the residential infrastructure and more residential units for lower and upper subordinates would be constructed at various places under Modernization Programme in the State.
On the occasion, Managing Director, JKPHC, Dilbag Singh apprised the DGP about the different aspects of the plan. He informed that 48 residential quarters with modern living facilities, will be completed in a record period of time, at an estimated cost of Rs. 5.28 crores. DGP was briefed about the utilisation of land available at Sidhra and was told that alternate accommodation would be raised to house Para-military Forces.
After laying the foundation stone, the DGP, discussed the modalities of the plan with the engineers and officers. He stressed to ensure timely execution and quality material in the construction, which could suffice the living facilities to personnel.
The DGP was accompanied by ADGP (Headquarters) SP Vaid, IGPs SJM Gillani, M.Sulaiman Salaria and Mubarak Ahmad Ganai, DIGs Shakeel Ahmad Beigh and Nisar Ahmed, XEn PHC Bashir Ahmad Rather, AIG building (PHQ) Abdul Rashid Bhat, SP PCR Jammu, J.S Johar, and other police officers.
