JAMMU, Sept 1: A large religious function  (Gurmat Samagam)  was organised on the occasion of 413th Prakash Purab of Sri Guru Granth Sahib by the District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Jammu at Gurdwara Sri Guru Nanak Dev, Chand Nagar, Jammu.
A large number of devotees/ members from  Sikh community participated in this grand religious function. The Gurdwara was highly decorated and the devotees started reaching since early in the morning to offer special prayers.
Besides devotees several great religious personalities from different States and also from J&K took part in the programme and also delivered religious sermons. They included Giani Ranjeet Singh  – Head Granthi, Gurdwara Bangla Sahib, Delhi; Ragi Jatha Bhai Sahib Dalip Singh Fakar, Patiala Wale; Ragi Jatha Bibi Ashupreet Kour – Jalandhar, Bhai Sandeep Singh from Chandigarh  and some local Ragi Jathas. They recited  Gurbani Path and threw light on the history of Sikhism and Sri Guru Granth Sahib.
The stage of this grand religious function was conducted by the general secretary, District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee Jammu,  Avtar Singh Khalsa and  the vote of thanks was presented by the president of the District Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, S. Jagjit Singh.
Prominent among those who were present on the occasion included- Tarlochan Singh Wazir, Chairman, State Gurdwara Parbandhak Board; Jathedar Mohinder Singh, Member DGPC, president Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) J&K,  Kuldeep Singh, vice president, DGPC, advocate Surinder Singh,  Harbhajan Singh from Camp Gole Gujral, Amrik Singh Roshan, KD Singh,  Mandeep Singh Bitta,  Sukhdev Singh, Surjeet Singh and Narinder Singh Khalsa.
