POWERGRID provides Rs 27 lakh worth 2 hi-end machines to hospital

Srinagar, July 1: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) today provided one color doppler ultrasound machine and an X-Ray machine with a high-frequency generator worth Rs 27 lakh to Chief Medical Officer, Budgam for strengthening the medical infrastructure of the Sub District Hospital, Chattergam.
Kailash Rathore, Executive Director, POWERGRID, Northern Region-II handed over the two hi-end latest technology machines to Dr. Tehmeena Kousar, Dy. CMO, Health Department of Budgam in the presence of Shafat Ahmed Wani, Sr. General Manager (RE/ST/SLTS), POWERGRID, Arshad Hussain Khan, General Manager (Wagoora), Dr. Sami Ahmed, BMO, Chattergam and other senior officials of POWERGRID and Health Department, Budgam,
The CSR effort of POWERGRID will augment the health infrastructure in Budgam district of Kashmir valley and will support the hospital located in Chattergam to provide medical services to nearby Villages.
“Since this hospital is in a rural area of Budgam district, this latest technology Ultrasound and X-Ray machines will provide great comfort to the populace of these areas which otherwise have to visit hospitals in Srinagar city.”
The authorities of the health department have thanked POWERGRID for providing the two hi-end machines and requested POWERGRID to continue contributing to the health infrastructure development in Kashmir valley.
Under CSR activities, the health sector is one of the thrust areas of POWERGRID, especially in the government hospitals of rural and urban areas across the country with the belief that adequate medical infrastructure is important for the wellbeing of the general masses.
It is to be noted here that during the last three years, POWERGRID has taken up many CSR initiatives in Kashmir province amounting to more than Rs 4 crore.
