JAMMU, June 17: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (Powergrid), a Maharatna PSU under Ministry of Power, Government of India, has provided ‘Two Colour Doppler Ultrasound Machines’ to Directorate of Health Services Jammu (DHSJ) under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) for strengthening the medical infrastructure of the Sub District Hospital Kot Bhalwal and Community Health Centre Akhnoor, here today.
Kailash Rathore, Executive Director, Powergrid Northern Region-II handed over the two hi-end latest technology ultrasound machines of Rs 43 lakhs to Dr Sanjay Sharma, Deputy Director Health Services Jammu in the presence of Vinod P Baxala, General Manager (HR), Powergrid, Dr Harbaksh Singh, CMO Jammu, Dr Kusum Mattoo, BMO Kot Bhalwal, Dr Saleem, BMO Akhnoor and others,
These facilities will augment the existing health infrastructure at SDH Kot Bhalwal and CHC Akhnoor in Jammu division, said a health officer, adding that these latest technology ultrasound machines will also provide great comfort to the populace of these areas which otherwise have to visit hospitals in Jammu city.
The authorities of the Health Department Jammu thanked the Powergrid for providing the two hi-end machines and requested Powergrid to continue contributing to the health infrastructure development in Jammu.
“Under CSR activities, the health sector is one of the thrust areas of Powergrid especially in the Government hospitals of rural and urban areas across the country with the belief that adequate medical infrastructure is important for the well being of the general masses. During the last three years, Powergridhas taken up many CSR initiatives in Jammu province amounting to Rs 2.5 crores, informed an official of Powergrid.
It is pertinent to mention here that the PowergridNorthern Region -II with headquarter in Jammu, is having its transmission system spread in the States of Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana and UT of Chandigarh, Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir.
