Power employees project demands

KATHUA, June 16: Electric employees have urged the State Government to address their long pending demands.
In a meeting of Provincial Electric Employees Union (Jammu) held under the chairmanship of P C Sharma provincial president here today, the speakers demanded reorganization of the PDD and filling up of the vacant posts to run the system and stations smoothly. They also stressed for making amendment in service and recruitment rules, regularization of daily rated and consolidated workers and releasing of technical grade in favour of ITI trained people in the department.
The Union members said that if the demands were not met, they will fully support the struggle/ strike being launched by daily wagers from June 20. Mohd Saleem, Karan Kumar, Kartar Chand, Yash Pal Raina and Krishan Chand also participated. A large number of members from various tehsils of district Kathua participated in the meeting, where achievements of the Union were projected by the president.
