Niyas to set up Information Center at Baltal: Charak

JAMMU, June 16: Baba Amarnath & Buda Amarnath Yatri Niyas (BABAYN) while discussing the arrangements for this year’s holy Amarnath Yatra starting from June 25 said that Niyas has approached one of its Associate member’s who was earlier installing a free langer at Baltal to open an public Information Centre instead for the convenience of the pilgrims.
Informing this at a press conference here today, Karan Singh Charak general secretary of the Niyas said that the representatives of this organization agreed to install a public address system at Baltal to cover the entire area.
Charak said till date no such facility was available for pilgrims there and the decision was taken in a meeting of the Niyas here for the benefit of lakhs of yatris visiting the Holy Cave.
Charak said the suggestion to this associate organization was given by the Niyas during a meeting on June 13 in which the representatives of associate organizations from different states including some free langer service providers, associates of Yatri Niyas were invited to Jammu and they were apprised about the role of Yatri Niyas.
They were apprised that the Niyas was working for better arrangements and facilities for the Amarnath yatris, he said. They were also asked to educate the people in their respective states intending to have pilgrimage of Swami Amarnath Ji about the hazardous conditions, which they have to face during yatra period and prepare themselves accordingly. They were also asked to inform the pilgrims to follow the advisory of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) about the yatra, he added.
He said during the meeting it was also decided to install Oxygen concentrators at three different locations in the medical helpline centers which Niyas has planned to set up this year at Baltal, Nunwan and Holy Cave. Those present in the meeting decided to donate one oxygen concentrator each, which will be installed at these three places for sick people, he added.
This is a preemptive move to save people from cardiac arrest as last year 100 people died of the same, he said, adding the Niyas will purchase 1000 small oxygen cylinders initially which will be used for the benefit of the pilgrims on both the tracks.
Pawan Kumar Jain, Vinod Gupta, V K Gupta and Vikas Deewan were also present in the press conference.
