JAMMU, July 7: Postal Department and Hotel Association Katra today extended helping hands to Uttarakhand flash-flood victims.
Postal Department has contributed Rs 3,30,000 for the Uttarakhand flash-flood victims.
Under the ‘Sahayata Initiative’, Postal Department has decided to help the people of Uttarakhand, who have suffered death and destruction during the recent flood, said Chief Post Master General (CPMG), John Samuel.
He added that the Postal staff in the State have contributed Rs 3,30,000 towards this noble cause.
Meanwhile, Hotel and Restaurant Association, Katra today presented cheques and drafts of Rs 1,62,750 to Deputy Commissioner Reasi Shahid Iqbal Choudhary for Uttarakhand flash flood victims.
The cheques and drafts were handed over to Deputy Commissioner by Shyam Lal Kesar, president of the association in presence of Rakesh Wazir, senior vice president, Sudershan Kumar, CEO Katra Development Authority, Nawab Din, Assistant Commissioner Reasi, Shiv Kumar Sharma, president J&K Indian Style Wrestling Association, etc.
