JAMMU, Sept 15: A youth from district Poonch bags Global Pride Award for being outstanding social worker and has the privilege to get applauds from the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.
Hailing from an LoC village in Mendhar area of district Poonch, Nazakat Choudhary (22), son of Ghulam Hussain, graduated from Delhi University and chose to turn out to be a social activist of his area. Today in the young age, this youth has become a great sources of inspiration for other young boys and girls of the area.
Besides organizing various awareness camps in this border belt of Mendhar, Nazakat has a passion for serving people of his area. He organized many career counseling and skill development camps for the youth of his area besides making Government sponsored programs big success. During Covid-19 also, he worked tirelessly in the area and was honoured by various organizations and senior officers in the Administration.
Nazakat had the privilege to represent J&K in Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sangam-2023 programme held at International Convention Centre, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, wherein Prime Minister Modi was the chief guest. This youth had the privilege of interacting with the PM as well on July 29. Out of the total youth from different states attending this programme, only 13 had been short listed to interact with the PM Modi and Nazakat from Mendhar was one among them representing Jammu and Kashmir. Not only this, Nazak occupies front page of Yuva Sangam Book, published by Union Ministry of Education/ HRD during this year.
This Mendhar youth had been felicitated/awarded by the office of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha; Principal Secretary Education Alok Kumar; Deputy Commissioner, Poonch, Mohd Yasin; Secretary Tribal Affairs Shahid Iqbal Choudhary; Revenue Secretary- Piyush Singla, the then SSP Poonch Ramesh Angral, the then DC Rajouri Ajaz Ahmed Asad and many organizations and senior officers.
