JAMMU, Sept 9: A Jammu based student Rajat Puri of DAV College, Chandigarh has brought laurels as he won election for the post of Vice President of Punjab University Student Council (PUSC) with a margin of 428 votes.
He secured 1440 votes. Out of 184 candidates from different colleges who have filed nominations for the Post of President, Vice President, General Secretary and Joint Secretary, 22 were alone in fray from DAV College for the post of Vice President.
Puri belongs to the border town of Poonch in J&K. He completed his early studies in Poonch and later moved to Jammu for higher education and is currently pursuing Bachelor’s Degree from DAV College Chandigarh.
Speaking on the occasion Rajat said that he will work as a part of the team with other elected members to strive hard to facilitate better environment within the campus and will also to raise the genuine demands of student community.
