KATRA, Sept 15: Demanding permission to work, Ponywalas and drummers who offer services on Mata Vaishno Devi track, held a protest at the Yoga Ashram Complex in Katra today.
They raised slogans in support of their demand and said that they should be allowed to offer services on the track as pilgrimage to Mata Vaishno Devi has been going on since August.
They said that two thousand passengers have been allowed to travel daily by the administration and hence at least 50 ponywalas should also be allowed to work on the yatra route so that these people too can nurture their family. “We have been sitting idle in our homes unemployed for the last six months and now it has become extremely difficult to feed the family,” they said.
