Polytechnic students boycott MST

UDHAMPUR, Nov 27: Students of Government Polytechnic Udhampur are boycotting the Mid Session Tests (MST) in protest against the non-availability of practical facilities in the college.
The students of III-semester of Civil stream did not appear in the third successive MST today and also announced to boycott the Practical tests, which are scheduled to begin from tomorrow.
These students are protesting against no practical facilities in the college and inadequate teaching staff.  They are particularly up in arms against the college decision of asking its    students to go to Jammu on their own for practical in Government Polytechnic Jammu.
When contacted, the Principal   of Government Polytechnic Udhampur, Vivek Mahajan admitted that like all the newly opened colleges in the province, students of this Polytechnic were also asked to attend practical classes in Jammu due to non-availability of some special equipments.
However, he claimed that a few students appeared in the MST.
