SRINAGAR, May 26: A deputation of faculty of J&K Polytechnic colleges today met Higher and Technical Education Minister, Imran Ansari here at Civil Secretariat and urged him to implement AICTE pay scales in J&K.
They apprised the Minister that in this connection, their file bearing number EDU/Tech/Poly/123/2015 is under process since November 2015 and presently in Finance Department vide file no A/47(2000) – I – New Part -1098 for notification.
The faculty members told him that most of the states in the country including Haryana, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Maharashta, Goa, Chandigarh, Karnataka, Kerala, and Andra Pradesh have already implemented the AICTE pay scales & Regulations for Diploma level Institution i.e Polytechnics along with the Degree Institutions.
The delegation reiterated that to improve the quality of Technical Education and to stop the brain drain from the department, it is mandatory to implement the AICTE Regulations viz a viz Pay Scales and other regulations.
“Keeping such things in mind the Government decided to effect these regulations to Government Engineering Colleges of J&K but unfortunately at that point of time their sector which also comes under the purview of the AICTE was neglected”, they told the Minister.
The Minister was also told that that the pay scale of ITI staff has already been revised while as in case of polytechnics, the implementation of AICTE was ignored, thereby creating pay anomaly issue between polytechnic & ITI.
It was also informed that that the AICTE notification of pay scales has been implemented by J&K in case of Government College of Engineering and Technology Jammu vide J&K Finance Department notification vide SRO 235 dated 25/04/2013 whereas same was ignored at that time in case of polytechnics.
The Minister for Higher and Technical Education Moulvi Imran Ansari gave patience hearing to the deputation and assured that the matter will be resolved within shortest possible span of time as already promised with the department
