DDC initiates enquiry into poor functioning of water supply scheme

KISHTWAR, May 26: Taking a strong note on the reports of poor functioning of lift water supply scheme in the district, District Developmental Commissioner Kishtwar Angrez Singh Rana today initiated an indepth enquiry over the non-functioning of water lift.
During the summer season the crisis of drinking water in Kishtwar town and in Mandal area gets worsen due to increasing demands.
In order to take the assessment of the situation, the DDC visited and inspected the lift water supply scheme and it was very shocking that the lifts are not working and the water being pumped is getting reversed to downward instead of pumped upward flow towards its destination.
“It seems that the officers and officials sitting at the helm of affairs are not performing their legitimate duties well and it is only because of their grave negligence the lifts are not functioning properly”, the order of DDC reads.
During the inspection it came to fore of the DDC that the officials namely Bushan Lal, Supervisor and Abdul Qayoom, Class IV employee are not performing their legitimate duties, the order reads.
Meanwhile, keeping in view the negligence of the staff posted for the proper working and functioning of the lifts, the Additional District Development Commissi-oner Kishtwar has been directed to conduct an indepth enquiry into the matter and recommend the penalties against the erring officers and officials if found any for committing negligence in performing their legitimate duties under rule 128 of CSR.
The enquiry officer should submit the report by or before June 5.
