Sir,
Jammu city is witnessing alarming rise in air pollution levels particularly during peak hours when roads remain clogged due to heavy vehicular traffic.
It is not mere Government which has to take note of this developing situation, but people too should get involved in it. Before Jammu may become another Delhi, it is better we find ways to counter the mounting pollution levels.
No one is going to do it for us, If want to breathe pollution free air. A recent study has revealed that every one Indian dies in three minutes in India due to pollution. Before pollution in air chokes us to death, it is better we handle this situation with care.
The increasing number of small vehicles is a major contributory factor in deteriorating environment. These vehicle owners should use these vehicles judiciously. Car poling among employees is one of the steps in this direction.
The small scale industries located on the outskirts of Jammu city should be asked to implement all pollution laws.
Yours etc…
Vinay Kumar
