NEW DELHI : The Election Commission today announced the schedule for holding assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir and Jharkhand.
Polling will be held in both states in five phases beginning from November 25, Chief Election commission V S Sampath said.
The first phase of polling in J&K and Jharkhand will be held on November 25, the second on December 2, the third on December 9, the fourth on December 14 and the fifth on December 20. The counting of votes will be held on December 23, Mr Sampath said.
Polling for by-elections to assembly seats of Mehrauli, Tughlakabad and Krishna Nagar will be held along with phase 1 polling for the assembly elections.
