JAMMU, Dec 23: Socialistic Democratic Party (SDP) president, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi has said that a political revolution will constitute the new State Assembly in the Jammu and Kashmir in 2014.
Addressing a press conference here today, Dr Andrabi said next Assembly in the State will be quite different and the sinister political orders will be smashed to the ground. She said the people can not be cowed down always. The regional political party which ruled for long in the State has only befooled them on various pretexts including autonomy. Their hollow claims have been exposed before the people.
Only those individuals or parties who have shown progress and provided justice to the people will be in picture otherwise all others will be perished. The public mood is different this time and they are not going to spare those befooling them.
Dr Darakhshan expressed her pleasure over increasing public support for SDP for the change in the rotten political system of the State. She said, “Next year we will have the new Assembly in the State and the sinister political orders will get smashed to the ground. The common man is struggling for the change and he has decided to reject all political parties who have only experimented on their innocence to build their personal assets and enjoy their luxuries at the cost of the common man’s development.”
She said that the plight of the common man from Poonch and Rajouri districts can be well gauged from the poor development in the area. The Government and the elected representatives of these districts have done nothing substantial for improving the living standard of the people. The funds meant for STs from the Union Government under Tribal Sub Plan are being diverted to other sectors. There is no development in Gujjar Bastis.
The SDP president said that the tribal population in the area has decided to support SDP which is the only voice of a common man. It is the only local political group not governed by dynasties, but by common man. It is the only group that has always opposed religious and communal divide and opposed the supremacy of anybody in the State,” Dr Andrabi added.
State general secretary, Ajay Kumar, LS Candidate from Jammu-Poonch Gursagar Singh, Gujjar leaders from Rajouri – Poonch Haji Aslam Choudhary, Haji Bilal Mohd and Raja Wali Datt Khan were also present. Many people from the nomad community joined the party.
