Political parties celebrate Independence Day

JAMMU, Aug 16: Different political parties and the politicians, including MPs and Legislators, celebrated 72nd Independence Day by hoisting National Flag amidst traditional enthusiasm during the celebration functions, organized in this connection across the State.
J&K BJP celebrated the Independence Day with fervour by hoisting National Tricolour at various prominent places and distributed sweets in Jammu City. At party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar, City Chowk and Kachi Chawni office, BJP State president Ravinder Raina (MLA) hoisted “Tiranga” along with other senior leaders.
MP Lok Sabha Jugal Kishore Sharma, MP Rajya Sabha Shamsher Singh Manhas, State vice-presidents Harinder Gupta, Parmod Kapahi, Purnima Sharma, general secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul, State general secretary Yudhvir Sethi, former Minister Sat Sharma, MLA Rajesh Gupta, MLCs Ramesh Arora, Charanjit Khalsa and others accompanied the State president during flag hoisting ceremonies.
National Conference celebrated Independence Day by organizing a function at Sher-e-Kashmir Bhawan, Jammu, where NC provincial president Devender Singh Rana hoisted national flag and reiterated the party’s commitment to strengthen bonds of brotherhood and restoration of lasting peace in the State. Those present on the occasion, included Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, Rattan Lal Gupta, Th. Kashmira Singh, Sheikh Bashir Ahmed, Vijay Bakaya, Babu Rampaul, Haji Mohd Hussain, Dr Chaman Lal, Bimla Luthra,   Vijay Laxami Dutta, Satwant Kour Dogra, Mohd Ayub Malik, Jugal Mahajan, Dharamveer Singh Jamwal, Chander Mohan Sharma, S S Bunty, Vijay Lochan and others.
Later, Rana also flagged of a motorcycle rally from Jammu to Suchetgarh border, organized by Biker Brotherhood Motorcycle Club India for spreading the message of peace, progress and communal harmony in the region.
On the Independence Day, the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) unfurled the Tricolour at Congress Party Headquarters Srinagar and celebrated the day with great enthusiasm. Senior leader and  former Minister Taj Mohi U Din, MLC  Gulam Nabi Monga, spokesperson Farooq Andrabi, Mohd Sultan, DCC president Irfan Naqib, Abdul Gani Khan, Gulam Mohd Shiekh, Shameema Raina, Imtiyaz Ahmad Khan, Arif Maqbool, Mohd Hussain Wada, Saira, Shameema Mir, Basharat, Zahid Bashir and others were present on the occasion.
While greeting the nation, PCC leaders reiterated the appeal to people to rise against the divisive politics of BJP- RSS, which is responsible for the chaos and disharmony in the country.
Former Minister Sat Sharma along with Jammu West District president Ayodhya Gupta and other senior BJP leaders hoisted tricolour at Ward No. 24, 25, 28, 30, 31, 32, 40 and 41. State vice-president Rajeev Charak hoisted Tiranga at New Colony Bahu Fort, and Pacca Talab Bahu Fort, Sunjwan and Greater Kailash. Ayodhya Gupta hoisted Tiranga at Ward number 27 and 29.
MLA Chander Prakash Ganga, unfurled the tricolor at Sarore Adda to commemorate celebration of 72nd Independence Day. On the occasion, he paid rich tributes to the martyrs of the nation who laid down their lives to safeguard the integrity and sovereignty of their motherland. He saluted the role of all security forces in protecting the nation who sacrifice their comforts and conveniences only to ensure that common people can live in complete peace and tranquility.
On Independence Day, BJP MLC Ch Vikram Singh Randhawa hoisted National Flag at Gandhi Nagar, Narwal Bala, Karyani Talab, Digniana, Preet Nagar, Nanak Nagar, Dashmesh Nagar, Gangyal, Rani Bagh, Chatha, Bhour Camp, Channi Rama and Narwal Pain.
BJP Mahila Morcha celebrated Independence Day by organizing a function at Ward number 52, Trikuta Nagar, wherein the party’s State organizing secretary Ashok Koul hoisted National Flag.
BJP Kashmir Displaced District celebrated Independence Day by hoisting National Flag at Amphalla Chowk, Jammu. The programme was organized under the leadership of Chand Ji Bhat.
Senior National Conference leader and Member Legislative Assembly Mendhar, Javed Ahmed Rana unfurled the national flag at party headquarters in Mendhar on the occasion of 72nd Independence Day. He highlighted importance of the day and threw light on the role played by the nationalist leadership to free the nation from the clutches of Britishers.
On the Independence Day, BJP MLC Vibodh Gupta visited house of martyr Tufail Hussain in the remote village of Doodsan Bala and unfurled the National flag with his family members and local people of the area. He also visited the grave of Tufail Hussain, who was martyred on Dec 31, 2017, and paid rich tribute to him. The MLC adopted family of the martyr and promised to extend all possible support.
Independence Day was celebrated by BJP unit Bhaderwah with great fervour and gaiety. On the occasion, National Flag was hoisted at Seri Bazar amidst raising of patriotic slogans and singing of National Anthem.
A function to celebrate Independence Day was held at Suchetgarh where the National Flag was unfurled by R S Chib, Congress leader and former Minister. This celebration was organized by a social organisation headed by Advocate, M R Sangra.
Independence day was celebrated with great patriotic fervour by the prominent Congress workers, businessmen, citizens, farmers, persons of labour class and youth at Tara Chowk, Bishnah, Treva Morh Border Town of Arnia, village Rattanal (Bishnah), Chakhasla and many other places. The national flag was unfurled by Mahender Kumar Bhardwaj, senior Congress leader and member AICC and Ashok Dubey, organising secretary, PCC.
Janta Dal Secular celebrated Independence Day at the party headquarters, Raghunath Bazar Jammu where acting State president of the party, Ranjay Bargotra, hoisted the National Flag. Sweets were distributed among gathering on the occasion.
Senior Congress leader Maheshwar Singh Manhas unfurled National Flag at Lohan Park, Ploura, Jammu. On the occasion, sweets were distributed among the participants.
Shiv Sena organized a blood donation camp on the Independence Day at Toph Bridge. On the occasion, Tri colour flag was also hoisted after which Shiv Sainiks donated the blood. The Blood was collected by the Blood Bank of Govt Medical Collage Hospital Jammu. On the occasion, all the senior leaders of Shiv Sena, including State president Dimpy Kholi, Chairman Vipin Hindu and working president Ashwani Gupta were present.
JKNPP activists celebrated Independence Day with great enthusiasm and gaiety at Party HQ in Jammu.  Senior vice president, P K Ganju hoisted the National Flag amidst chanting of National Anthem.  Adv. Bansi Lal Sharma, Anita Thakur, Jagdev Singh, S Parmjeet Singh Marshall, Surinder Wahi and others were also present on the occasion. Neeraj Dewan, Zonal president JKNPP, unfurled National Flag at Ward number 37, Janipur and Transport Nagar Jammu.
Flag hoisting ceremony was also held at Gandhi Nagar, Ward number 21, Laxmi Narayan Mandir Chowk. The flag was hoisted by senior BJP leader and Member State Working Committee Indu Bhushan Sharma. On this occasion, Raman Gupta, Pankaj Sharma, Atul Kumar, Varun Sharma, Neeraj Kumar, Narinder Raina, Paramjeet Singh and many more prominent citizens were present there.
On the occasion of Independence Day, former Minister and senior Congress leader Raman Bhalla hoisted Nation Flag at Sanjay Nagar,   Congress party office Shahidi Chowk, Satwari, Model Town, Gangyal, Kunjwani Chowk, Sainik Colony, Marble Market, Trikuta Nagar, Belicharana, Bhour Champ, Jeevan Nagar, Bahu Fort, Rajiv Nagar and Roop Nagar.
