Political groups exploiting people of hilly regions: JKDF

Excelsior Correspondent
JAMMU, Apr 10: Terming the hilly belts of State as worst sufferers of opportunistic politics, Jammu Kashmir Democratic Front (JKDF) State president and candidate for Doda-Udhampur Parliamentary constituency, Anil Gupta pointed out that political groups are exploiting the people of the hilly regions by making commitments which they never fulfill.
In the majority of cases these representatives never turn out their faces in the areas where they are looming during the elections for fetching the votes.
While holding rallies in Kishtwar and Doda, Anil Gupta appealed the people to show exit doors to these representatives who come in local lime light only during the election season for just acquiring the power.
The infrastructure for education, healthcare, electricity supply and road connectivity to the majority of remote areas is yet to be build, he added.
He said that the Government’s tall claims of development seems confined to papers only, ground reality is totally different.
Voicing serious concern over the prevailing unrest amongst the VDC members and SPOs for their emoluments and improving of the service conditions, Gupta said it is much intriguing that after the year 2004 successive Governments have adopted the anti-people policies and discouraged these forces which have otherwise done a tremendous job in eliminating the militancy from this belt.
“I shall strive for the regularization of the VDC personnel and SPOs and will work for converting these forces into special task force on the pattern of regular paramilitary forces for their permanent rehabilitation”, Anil Gupta added.
